Anna & Deck

Annabelle was one of those who preferred close doors over a movie night out. She was one of those who would happily stay under the sheets rather than going to parties. On the other hand Deckard was a party animal in his graduation days. Though he doesn't release the krakken anymore, more often than never he declines an invitation. Anna worked in a salon where she gave hair treatment and therapy while Deck worked a few blocks away with InfraTroniks, a company specialised in infrastructure electronics handling development and maintenance. If it wasn't for Anna's wrilling head, which forced her to take half a day off and a delay in serving Deck's burger at a cafe just across the street from the salon; they would have never met. Taking the day off, Anna rushed to her cosy apartment and on the other side Deck realising his break had been long over,
dashed out. By the dice of fate, they hailed that same cab from either side of the street. When the cab stopped, both of them pushed through opposite doors only to bump into one another midway in the back. Deck, for the gentleman he has become didn't quarrell, instead Anna started to fight for the cab, which was quite amusing. Deck politely explained that he had to be dropped just a couple of blocks away where he was supposed to deliver a presentation to his supervisor an hour ago, even offered to pay half the fare. Anna relented, not from the offer. She sensed a kind of earnest sincerity in his conviction. With another roll of dice, they found themselves stuck in a jam for the road ahead was blocked by a fire engine trying to rescue a kitten from a scaffolding. A single file of cars could pass from the available road. In these moments, Deck noticed his attractive the girl sitting next to him while Anna experienced a surge of emotions towards the gentleman at whom she opened the lid. Deck could have abandoned the ride and ran the distance, he didn't. They got talking leading one thing to another. From bad to good to better, couple of weeks later, they were on their first date at The Hyaat.
Some 15 months later...
They were supposed to catch a plane to Cuba for the weekend where Deckard planned to propose Annabelle. The luck got onto its bad when due to some ridiculous clouds, the air space turned out to be a no-fly zone with most of the flights cancelled or delayed.
With the gatehouse packed till brim, Deck, for the thrill seeker he was, decided to propose Annabelle right there infront of all. Silently he prayed, Anna wouldn't reject him infront of the gala.
